License Key on LINUX SUSE 10 SP2

Hi

I have to increase one more CPU (Quadcore) physically to our ECC 6.0 SAP system with LINUX SUSE 10 SP2 and DB2 LUW 9.1.0.5 installed on HP blade system Blades ProLiant BL460c G1 .

My question is about if this action should me create a new Hardware key to provoke an expiration process in the license key currently installed? so I should generate it again in the Market Place

Can somebody help me or give me some advices?

Hi,

On Linux platforms the hardware key is determined from the MAC address of the first valid network card. So unless you change this your hardware key will not change.

And for those experiencing problems with bonded interfaces and such, there is an alternative method which does not use the mac address anymore:
