adding custom objects to existing universe

Hi ,

I have an existing universe (out of the box), how do i add custom objects for reporting purposes.

Should i create a new universe and some how link it to the existing one? If so what approach should I follow out of three approaches in linking.

OR

Should i start with kernel approach and add the custom objects to the existing universe.

Kindly Suggest..

Hi,

I am not clear about the exact requirement, but if you want, you can create your own custom objects in the existing universe as well.

you can add any objects you want to an existing you universe

Hello Candie,

You can always create another Universe that does not have to be a linked Universe, and then add it to the report(s) in another query. Then you would just need to merge the dimensions where needed in the report. This might be easier than a linked Universe. But it sort of depends on what you are trying to do.
