Hello!
Our company is preparing to implement RE-FX including CAD Integration.
But there is little information how to integrate RE-FX with AutoCAD in detail.
Please answer below questions and inform me more about CAD integration.
1. Whether or not we have to purchase 3rd party solution for CAD integration like SAP connector especially for interface ?
(if Yes, is there any 3rd party solution?)
2. We saw a SAP demo about CAD integration with RE-FX. It was fantastic. It provide fully integration in
Master Data creation, change, and synchronization in Architectural View and Usage view. Is it real fact or not using SAP FX-RE
Standard Function?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

Hi Srini,
we are Dutch company http://www.npqsolutions.com/BSNL/fm_voor_sap.htm
and we have solution that you can upload AutoCAD drawing into SAP RE-FX, exactly floor level
later on we use that drawing for manipulation, also we have mobile solution http://lnkd.in/UWf67W
I think our solution to fit your domain
Should you have some questions for clarification we can discuss.

Hi,
We are in the same boat. Based on my research below are the findings:
1. If you upload the CAD drawings in DMS, you can reflect the color coding and occupancy details on to the drawing with little customization and not using any 3rd party software.
2. If you need the syncronization between the drawing measurements and re-fx master data measurements and other cool features, then you would need the 3rd party software. The cool sap demo is not out-of-box solution.
Here's a thread for more info:
Also, read this OSS note: 1335715
Thanks.

Dear RE_Flex.
Thank your for your special answer.
I really got answer what I want to.
I think you have very good experience in CAD integration with FX-RE.
So I like to ask more question without any hesitate. Please understand me.
1. Do you recommand any 3rd party CAD integration solution suitable for full data interface between SAP FX-RE and AutoCAD?
2. How can I order?
3. In more detail funcations
- How to install
- step by step procedures for implementation of CAD integration.
- Do we need any Add-On programming for satisfy our requirements?
If you want to make our CAD integration process like SAP demo, Can 3rd-party solution fulfill our requirements? or any more Add-On program needs?
4. Do we need any specialist's help for implementing CAD integration solution
or Can we implment CAD integration without any with references and manuals ?
I'm sorry to make you uncomfortable because I ask too many questions.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

Hi,
I think one of the SAP's recommended software is CIDEON which offers the whole suite.
There is also a presentation at the International RE conference the week of Sep 14th where one of the big topics is CAD integration. It will be nice to hear about the latest.
