Hi,
With the new concept of installing AS ABAP on a different server and AS JAVA on a different one, I am confused with the sizing. From my understanding, the AS JAVA database would not be heavily used - i may be wrong. I am sizing a sandbox with 500 Gb for AS ABAP Database. How much should I alot for AS JAVA? Should 30 Gb be sufficient?
The storage is on SAN and I want to know how much should I ask the SAN guys on storage.
Thanks.
Hello JerryP,
What do you intend to do with your AS Java will help you determine the sizing.

Hi,
Read the installation guide from https://service.sap.com/installnw70 -> "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 - Installation Guides"
Depending on the database you using, the components used, Operating System etc your sizing will differ. For more specific sizing that takes the number of users into account, applications used etc visit http://service.sap.com/sizing
The installation guide will at least give you your basic space requirements for a Java AS.
