Optimizer Failing

Hi All,

We are using Optimizer for our SNP planning but for many weeks we are facing issue with it. We are running Optimizer weekly and we have background job scheduled. Whenever this jobs starts after around 200 seconds jobs fails with error " *********************Incorrect Input******************* ". After that we immediately rerun the jobs and it goes thru. I am not sure why this error occurs. We do all consistency check before optimizer job kicks off.

Any help?

Hi Harish,

Check whether you have installed the latest SNP Optimizer Executable version from Service market place, and also the latest Optimizer patches:

These are the latest SP levels:

SCM 2007 - Support pack 07

SCM 5.0- Support pack 18

SCM 4.1- Support pack 20.

Hi ,

you need to understand Optimizer architecture to do perfect analysis.

you can Optimizer session details from T-codes, /sapapo/opt12, /sapapo/opt09

Check with BASIS people -> IS your Optimizer installed/configured in Different System (check Host name of SAP APO and Optimizer from OS level). ideally, Optmizer should be configured in different system from SAP APO system physically.

Optmizer would be full due to over utilization or may be database problem. (unless you log in to Operating system level, you can not confirm on this).

Hi Harshil,

1) Check whether SAP note 191585 is applicable for your scenario.

2) Check any parallel jobs running

3) Check any user locking data

4) Check the selection criteria for optimiser run

5) Check any new items incorporated with insufficient master data

6) Check on RFC connections and livecache

But this does not help. I have checked all these stuff before coming to SDN.

Hi ,

Can you check SM21 T-code logs when you get this problem.

Problem might be from SAP system performance side(refer this to your SAP BASIS people).

Mean while, below notes would give clear understand.

Note 1228423 - APO Planning Run and CIF Activities in parallel

Note 747795 - SNP planned orders not transferred from APO to R/3

Note 301500 - SNP optimizer: short dump in interactive planning
