Error "No changes in WBS possible as budget is activated"

Hi all,

While creating new WBS element in exiting project, system giving error " no changes in WBS possible as budget is activated"

Due to this we need to deactive the AVAC to add WBS element in exiting project. Again run CJBN t.code to activate the AVAC.

I also checked user status. There is no user status which can restrict to create WBS.

Pl guide. What are the possibilites?

Hi,

Can you provide me the status information of Proj Def and at what level you are trying to add new WBSE, status of WBSE to which new WBSE to be added.

and also as Rifaee says, check your project Validation profile for each object.

I think this is due to some validation check. Check your error message and also check is there any validation set for the project.

I checked project profile. I have not found any validation assigned to project def as well as WBS.

Also I created same satus profile on sand box(other client) and checked. On other client, no error observed.

Is any other possibility to restrict to create WBS?

Let us know the status(both System status and User Status) of the superior object and Project Definition.

Hi Srikanth,

Once you can check with System status (CRTD) Business transaction tr.Code: BS22

and user status (ZAPP) Business Transactions ; tr.Code: OK02.

As you are saying that there is no validation for the any of the object (Project Def. and WBS Element).

It might be problem with Status profile where you have restricted the change option.

Pl. carefully check above mentioned points with your project WBSE status.

If the error is due to user status, you will see the user status id in the error message.

Please check again. There has to be some User Status that is prohibiting from making any changes to the project structure once budget is activated.

Dear,

We used same status profile to project def and WBS.

In status profile we defined status

1) ZWBS. It is initial status. In this status, following business tranction are controlled

Partially confirm WBS forbidden

Partially release project forbidden

Release forbidden

Write budget line items allowed

Write plan line items allowed

and

2)ZAPR. In this status, following business tranction are controlled

released allowed.

I am not getting why the system is not allowing to create new wbs element in exiting project.

Pl suggest the possibilities.
