Hi
anyone know if it is possible to reuse mapping programs across SWCV in PI 7.11?
cheers
HI Bohamo,
Yes It is possible .................
In order to increase reusability from existing objects from other software components, you can define usage dependencies within the SLD which is then reflected as basis software components within the ESR.
It is also possible to structure software component versions using other software component versions.
A software component version upon which another software component version is dependent is called an underlying software component version.

But i have a Question , is this Software Dependencies concept also available in lower version like 7.0 or lower) ?
Please reply on this also .....

Hi Bohamo,
I guess, you can make use of dependent software components.
Keep the data types, message types and corresponding mapping programs in one softwate component.
Make all other required SWCs dependent on this SWC in SLD.
Try this and please let us know if it works.

Once you create dependency between the Software components, you must be able to reuse the mappings.

Hi Bohamo,
I think it is not possible to re-use the Mapping program across SWCV's.
Note: From PI 7.1 onwards we can re-use the same UDF in multiple message mappings with in the same SWCV by saving the UDF in a function library.
Thanks,
