error executing bootstrap node (jcontrol.exe service doesn't start up )

Hi All,

I have installed Sap Enterprise Portal 6.0 based on Java WebAs.The RAM size is 1 gb ,server is Windows 2000 with service pack 4 .The jcontrol.exe service doesn't start up and is stopped with the developer trace saying :

Kindly revert to this issue at earliest.What might be the cause of this error ,is it Max heap size that causes error?Max heap size set on general tab and bootstrap tab on dispatcher node is 170 MB and Max heap size set on general tab and bootstrap tab on dispatcher node is 256 MB .kIndly please revert at earliest.

Hi,

I found an error in alter.log which located in /oracle/<sid>/saptrace/background:

Errors in file e:\oracle\wd1\saptrace\background\wd1_smon_6904.trc:

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1

ORA-00376: file 2 cannot be read at this time

ORA-01110: data file 2: 'E:\ORACLE\WD1\SAPDATA2\UNDO_1\UNDO.DATA1'

so, UNDO.DATA1 needed to be recovered, here my steps:

1.sqlplus '/as sysdba'

2.Check which data files have the status RECOVER:

SELECT NAME FROM V$DATAFILE WHERE STATUS='RECOVER'

3.If you recevie data files with the status RECOVER, recover each of these files with the following command:

RECOVER DATAFILE '<Path_and_name>'

4. Check which data files have the status OFFLINE:

SELECT NAME FROM v$DATAFILE WHERE STATUS='OFFLINE'

5. Set all these data files ONLINE:

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '<Path_and_name>' ONLINE;

restart instance, ok!!!!

Hi,

Try,

1. increasing the Virtual Memory of the system.

2. adjusting maximal heap size to Xmx1024m - Xms1024m, as you have server node with 1GB

It is enough to heap size of dispatcher at 170m.

bootstrap e.g. dev_bootstrap, std_bootstrap.out and jvm_bootstrap.out

And I found a error in Log_Bootstrap file

"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: iaik/security/provider/IAIK

#at java.lang.Throwable.<init>(Throwable.java:195)

#at java.lang.Error.<init>(Error.java:49)

#at java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.<init>(NoClassDefFoundError.java:40)

Can u help me in this case.
