Setting S/O to closed forced programatically to archive

Hi Experts

I'd need to archive old Sales orders which are not going to be settled. I have changed the settlement not to settle, but need now to archive them and then set the profile back to 'can be settled'.

Could anyone direct me to which table and field should be closed off so that archiving can take place without the sales order be complete in every aspect?

Your help will be much appreciated.

I made the settlement profile 'not to be settled'. Then archive and then set it to 'can be settled' again.

Little confused as your a going a little too "direct".

To close an order you can reject it.

Thank you for the response. I need to do this for about 100000 line items trying to post to CO-PA. I want to be able to programatically change them all to 'rejected' as you say. I am asking for the table names. Is it COEP?
