Alert issue

Former Member

Hi all,

Before posting it , i gave a good try for searching similar issues & tried solving it with them.

Now,

the issue is, i am not getting the alerts in my inbox.

I configured the alerts for my interface in ALRTCATDEF & in RWB-->alert configuration.

Tried troubleshooting it with help of below blog,

/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide

All the settings mentioned in blog is correct in my system.

Still, i am not able to see the messages in inbox( & also not in slg1).

One exception is,

i got 2 logs for my earlier messages in slg1 from my basis persons userid.

& the messages was,

1)Address of recipient (my userid) (INT) could not be read.

2)Send request for INT has no recipients.

In one of the blog, i saw that, we can send msgs either to alert inbox OR external id.

can some one guide me, where we can do that setting?

regards.

santosh.

Heloo,

>>1)Address of recipient (my userid) (INT) could not be read.

>>2)Send request for INT has no recipients.

Make sure that you have provided your SAP User Id in the fixed recipients box

Santosh,

Make sure the email id, where you want the alerts to be sent, has been configured in the SAP user id (tcode SU01) you are using in the alert configuration.

Neetesh,

Infact, we want the messages to e-mail id's as well in future.

But, to start with,

I just want the messages in my alert inbox(sap inbox).unlucky with the initial step.

Any idea, where to do the setting, if the mails has to go to alert inbox or external id.

cheers.

Can you check that your userid has authorization for Alerts?

One more thing, for external id, do you have SMTP settings in your server?

In fixed recepient if you have maintained your user id then you should get alerts in the Alert inbox in RWB.

What all the steps you have done for Alert configuration? Can you please list down them so we can tell you that what might be missing?

Thanks,

Can you check that your userid has authorization for Alerts?

How(role/authorization name?) to check this authorization.

I have authorization to configure the alerts.

What all the steps you have done for Alert configuration? Can you please list down them so we can tell you that what might be missing?

ALRTCATDEF

1) created the classification.

2)Created the alert category.

3)added my userid in fixed recipients.

RWB-->alert configuration.

1)created the rule for a specific interface(to send alerts for any error).

2)configured/verified all the steps mentioned in below blog

[ http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2327] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

I got 2 errors in slg1 in the beginning,

1)Address of recipient (my userid) (INT) could not be read.

2)Send request for INT has no recipients.

After that, no msgs in slg1 as well.

Basically, i want alert messages just in my alert inbox(not to external id now).

rgs.

Hi guys,

i am creating alerts for one of my interface,

Any idea, how to create RFC destination in t-code SM59.

below link for reference,

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/49/cbfb40f17af66fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

The central alert server must be maintained as an RFC destination in transaction SM59 in the local system. If there is no suitable user, you have to create a user for the RFC connection in the central alert system in transaction SU01 (see User Administration and Authorization Concept). To make this RFC destination known as the RFC destination of the Alert Management System in the local system, the central alert server must also be selected as the RFC destination in transaction SALRT1 of the local system or in Settings ® RFC-Destination of Alert Server.

any links on the same will be of use......

Hi,

Here is process to create RFC destination in SM59

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/26/64f62cfa8911d386e70000e82011b8/frameset.htm

Coming back to your original issue. Can you please check if

1- RSALERTPROC report is scheduled properly.

2- Try mechID (system id) instead of your dialog ID as fixed recepient. Ensure that this mechID is embedded with correct email ID in SU01. Rather this is the right way to trigger alerts.

3- Try the report RSALERTTEST running in SE38. It will trigger test alert and is used to check the configuration of Alerts in ALRTCATDEF.

4- The SAP note : 913858 has the tips and tricks to solve typical alert configuration issues.

Anand More.

Hi guys,

i tried out all the above mentioned steps.........but, still facing the issue(automatic alerts are not being generated in slg1 & inbox).

There is one step in below link, which i feel is missing,

The central alert server must be maintained as an RFC destination in transaction SM59 in the local system. If there is no suitable user, you have to create a user for the RFC connection in the central alert system in transaction SU01 (see User Administration and Authorization Concept). To make this RFC destination known as the RFC destination of the Alert Management System in the local system, the central alert server must also be selected as the RFC destination in transaction SALRT1 of the local system or in Settings ® RFC-Destination of Alert Server.
