Difference you see between A CCM 2.0 catalog and SRM MDM catalog?

Dear Experts,

I am not talking about the differences in functionalities between CCM 2.0 catalog and SRM-MDM 2.0/3.0 catalog. What differences you see between the catalogs from the end user perspective?

I have observed few of the things from the end user perspective:

1. Look and feel is much improved in SRM MDM catalog (Thanks to the ABAP Webdynpro) compared to CCM catalog (boring BSP!!!).

2. In MDM catalog, the user can create shopping list for the frequently shopped items. However, there is no such shopping list in CCM catalog.

3. There is option of 'Add to shopping cart' in the header level of a page in MDM catalog, but in CCM you need to select all the items manually.

4. In MDM, there is a link 'Back to SRM application, the user can return back to SRM application at any point of time. No such link is available for the end user here.

5. In the midst of item selection in a catalog, the user can have mini preview of shopping cart within the SRM MDM catalog which is not available in CCM catalog.

6. In CCM catalog application, there is lot of search options like 'fuzzy search' linguistic search' 'exact words'

Could you point put any further notable differences between the catalogs?

Thanks and regrads,

Ranjan

Hi Ranjan,

Just to clarify - the SAP CCM catalog does allow for shopping lists, they are called 'List of Selected Items' and are available for specific catalog if defined as such in the catalog call structure, please see the following [help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ccm20/helpdata/en/07/1c3894f5584210be38a41df309b783/content.htm].

In general, the MDM Catalog has improved upon all existing functionality while adding additional functionalities to the catalog previously not available in SAP Catalogs.

As the MDM catalog is not restruicted to ABAP Coding it's possibilities are far greater!

Regards,

Jason

Hi Ranjan.

SRM-MDM Catalog is built in Java Webdynpro and not in ABAP webdynpro.

Some of its features are:

1. Implicit Searches can be performed

2. Support of Electronic Forms(business cards) - To allow the end user to modify the values from the catalog

3. Service Catalog is also available for support of sevice hierarchies

4. Price Sorting functionality is available in product catalog

5. Multiple Parameters(Supplier, Plant Id, Contract ID) passing and launching catalog based on their search results

6. Hieararchy, Picklist and Attributes Search

7. Display of product relationship items- BOM, Kits (one level)
