Reg. structure change in IDoc

Hi All,

I am working on a scenario where the IDoc is customized .Let us say one of the segment in the IDoc structure is Z1 which is 0--

unbounded and now one of my colleague is trying to edit the IDoc segment and adding a field which is 01 . So, if the IDoc is reimported then the structure will be changed. Even though the structure is changed I am not activating my mapping again.

Note: The IDoc used for both the cases are under the same SWCV

Now, Can anybody suggest me whether the IDoc works fine for both inbound and outbound evenif the mapping is not edited and activated?

When IDoc is changed & reimported in PI system, you have to edit & activate your mapping also in that case.

Mapping part will work fine, when you are filling IDoc, but when you will send that to ECC system, it will check IDoc matadata, which will be different. At that part it will generate error.
