Hi Nimrod,

What about version managment of services?

You can manage service versioning pretty well within the PI ESR where SAP is the provider. For 3rd party providers, they should manage their own service versioning right?

By reffered to 3rd party I meant an Inhouse - non SAP application exposing web services.

Can the PI serves as a registry for thouse as well?

cheers

Hi,

SAP Service Registry (delivered with PI7.1) is based on UDDIv3 standard and it will support all the services whether belong to SAP, inhouse developed or delivered by external provider.

To publish those service in Service Registry, goto service registry "Publish" button and browse for wsdl of webservices and follow the step by step wizard.

I think you are getting confused between ESR and Service Registry. Its service registry that will help you achieve your requirement. You may use this registry for both web services exposed from both SAP as well as non-SAP systems.

Hi,

ESR is repository not registry. you can use SAP Service registry (also delivered with PI7.1) for doing all the task you mentioned above.

Repository store metadata + documentation

Registry store wsdl url, endpoint and config information + documentation
