Hi everyone,
Just a simple question we'd like to ask to the implementation experts here.
We've just setup an ERP ECC6 (Oracle 10g) Production environment and we'll be implementing data replication soon to our DR Site soon.
If we were to implement Oracle Dataguard onto our Prod / DR instances for automatic/active replication, would it require additional licenses?
The info i hear is that "Oracle Dataguard does not require additional licenses as long as the DB is Enterprise Edition". Can an expert clarify this?
Points guaranteed hehe.
Thanks and Regards,

License issues are best discussed with your SAP sales rep because nobody here knows, what kind of contract you have and where you bought your licenses.

Hello Michael,
yes you are right that Oracle Data Guard is part of the Oracle EE ... so you don't need any additional licenses.
If you will upgrade to Oracle 11g R2 and want to use some additional Oracle Data Guard features you maybe need the EE option "Active Data Guard" which is not included in the Oracle EE license (if purchased by SAP).
