External RFC connections hanged in SMGW

0 Kudos

HI,

Could somebody help me out how we can manually delete the RFC connections in SMGW?

The follwoing is not working, i have tried already:

1) Forcily pool back the connections using JCO

2) In SMGW Goto->ActiveConnection->Delete Connection

If i perform option 2), i m getting SAP error code 474. The connections got hanged like this and finally i need to restart the SAP instance.

Is there any way i can restart SMGW so that all connections are cleared?

Regards,

Ravi.

You didn't mention what OS you're using ?

If it's Unix/Linux you can try sending the gateway PID a HUP(Hangup Signal): kill -HUP <gateway pid>

This will effectively restart the process and remove all existing connections(until they connect again).

HI Vincent,

Do you mean the kill command should run from SAP MM console? if it is from MM console, it is moreover shutting down the instance right.

if not could you please list out the steps for sapntkill command?
