Notification Stage / Problem with following Stage "NO STAGE"

Hi Experts,

We are trying to implement a stage that automatically escalates to the next stage in the workflow path. The approvers of this stage should only be notified that certain roles will be assigned to a certain user, so that they can make necessary manual adjustments to tables in the SAP system. For most of the adjustments the user has to be already provisioned.

Therefore we implemented a new workflow path where in the last stage the notification takes place. After 1 hour on this stage the request is escalated automatically with setting u201CForward to next stageu201D. As it did not escalate with no stage following at all, we added an additional Stage (NOSTAGE) with Approver Determinator u201CNo Stageu201D.

The problem with this is that our request after escalation to the u201CNo Stageu201D stage remains on this stage and is not closed. The Status of the stage is u201Ccurrentu201D and it displays u201Csystemu201D where normally the approvers are shown. We are using CUP 5.3 SP11 on the relevant system.

Did anyone have a similar problem and has any idea how to solve it? Or is there any other idea how certain persons can only be notified (without the ability to approve or reject) based on specific requested roles. (Adding the persons for the relevant roles as additional role approvers is not solving our problem, we thought about this as well.)

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Jonas

Hello Jonas,

You can prevent a user from approving / rejecting a request by removing role AEApprover . Hence he/she only get a notification but unable to approve. You can ponder in this direction , not sure if this caters to your requirements.

Hi Ranjiv,

thanks for your idea.

We did that already for our additional stage. It's a pitty we can't use this idea as we need all approvers on the previous stage "role approval" to approve the request. So we can not use the setting "any one approver" and just add the persons that have to be informed with no rights to approve or reject on this level.
