To use Networks in PS or not

My company (US) posts costs to the WBS level but we have just purchased a company in Germany that posts costs to the activity level. We are in the midst of integrating them on our system but are wondering if issues will arise from some projects having networks and others not having networks. Any insight here is appreciated.

There will be no problem. But there can be issues related to reporting. If in US system you are collecting all the costs at WBS level and Germany may be collecting costs at network activity level. You may need to tweak some of the reports which may be custom reports you are using for USA.

Ultimately th network costs get rolled up to WBS element, so in principle no problem.

Thanks to all who replied. But the clarify, we would not combine the projects. The US would have separate projects and post costs to the WBS and Germany would have their projects where costs would be posted to the network level.

What types of project are those? Are they different? Are you going to merge both the project and use it as a single project? Please give some more details.

What is the problem in having different cost postings to both WBS and Activities? As Ahmed said if these are different projects then there is no problem. Only if you are merging two project structures into a single one then see how it is structured.
