Hi,

We need create a new portal trough System Copy (Backup/Restore

procedures), but for that reason we need to change SID, wich are all

steps to change it at SAP (J2EE) Level, I know I need to change some of

them in ConfigTool, but I can´t find any manual or note refering that.

Thanks!!!

You can choose the new SAP system ID <TARGET_SAPSID> freely during a new installation

Follow the system copy guide.

Thanks,

On JAVA side this will NOT work ... You need to use the sapinst to do system copy.

Yes you can use the Backup Restore but whis are only the DB copy not SAP applications and configurations ,

try to read the COPY guide more closely.

Solution : use SAPINST for this using the db copy as you want Backup Restore.

Hi,

This is possible but it is an awful job and as Sergo said : it is not supported.

We did it once on a test system just to know the difficulty. Our conclusion was: never again ...

Good luck if you try it.

Olivier
