Difference between MWST & MWSI

Dear Experts,

Can you tell me what is the difference between condition types - MWST & MWSI??

I know MWSI is included of tax amount. Means if selling price is INR 100.00 & MWST is 17%, then

MWST = INR 17.00, selling price = 100.00 and net Invoice = 117.00

MWSI = INR 14.53, Selling Price= 85.47 and Net Invoice = 100.00.

Is there any other difference between MWSI & MWST?

In my scenarios, all selling price is tax inclusive. Should you recommend MWSI only?

Regards,

Praveen

Dear Praveen,

MWSI and MWST are similar but for one difference

MWSI has calculation type as H that is % included

MWST has calculation type as A that is %

This means that if a material is say Rs 100 and the tax is 4 % then

MWST calculates this as 100 + 4 % tax that is tax is Rs 4 and the final value will be Rs 104

MWSI calculates this 4 % tax included in that material cost of 100 and the tax is calculated in the reverse within rs 100 that is 100 /1.04 that is 96.15 will be nett price and the tax will be Rs 3.85 and the final price will be Rs 100

But this 96.15 is not reflected anywhere in the calculations of pricing procedure

Since the features of both MWSI and MWST are similar and the difference being only in the calculation type( the way by which it cakculates one forward MWST and one backward MWSI ) we are giving reference condition type as MWST for the details of MWSI in V/06

This means that we need to maintain condition records only for MWST and that will be applicable to MWSI (reduces the no of condition records in masterdata so that system performance is improved)

No separate condition records needs to be maintained for MWSI

Thanks

Hi,

If you look at condition type configuration (V/06) you could see only calculation type is different. For MWSI it is H (percentage included) For MWST it is A (Percentage)

in MWSI you could see Reference condition type as MWST (Master Data tab) F1 help gives the below explanataion.

Reference condition type

A condition type which can be used as a reference so that you only have to create condition records once for condition types that are very similar.

Use

You may need to use different condition types for the same condition. These can differ in the access sequence, the description, the reference stage of the pricing procedure or the calculation type, for example.

You can enter the condition type under which the condition records are created.

Example

Condition type MWSI only differs with condition type MWST in the calculation type. For this reason an entry is made in field ReferenceCondTypeMWST for condition type MWSI . Now, condition records only need be created for condition type MWST and not additionally for MWSI.

Dependencies

Field RefApplication is used to refer to condition records from other applications.
