I´m running accrua/defferral process between 01.07.10 to 30.09.10 ( each three months). Previously accrual process was done for a different contract but in the same period, now when I try to accrual/defferal a new contract I got the following error:

A run has already been carried out in company code PCS with key date 30.09.2010

Message no. ACEPS054

In company code PCS, an accrual run has already been carried out on 30.09.2010. A normal or unplanned accrual run (run type "normal" or "unscheduled") can only be started with a later date, though not with with the date you entered (31.07.2010).

On key date 31.07.2010, you can carry out a repeat run (accrual run with run type "repeat") if necessary.

Procedure

Correct the entry parameters.

Then, the question is how carry out a REPEAT run, because there is not any "RUN TYPE" option in transaction REAALCN !!

Could someone explain me how do it??

Hi,

accruals can be executed only for an open period. You can only repeat the accrual on the same date as long as accruals were not yet run for subsequent periods.

Please refer to the SAP note 829676 where this is explained.

Accruals/deferrals can be executed only for an open period with regard

to accruals/deferrals, that is, the accruals/deferrals perform a check

at company code level to determine which period was accrued last. For

example, you are unable to execute accruals/deferrals for January 2005

if the accruals/deferrals for February 2005 have already been posted.

The question as to whether or not the accruals/deferrals have already

occurred for a period is only checked at company code level, and not at

contract level. For this reason, you are also unable to reschedule the

accruals/deferrals for individual contracts for the month of January

2005 if the accruals/deferrals for the month of February 2005 have

already been posted.

Repeating accruals/deferrals

Accruals/deferrals can be repeated as often as required on the same date

as long as accruals/deferrals did not yet run for subsequent periods.

When accruals/deferrals are repeated for a period that has already been

accrued, new postings are generated only for the contracts that were not

previously created by the accruals/deferrals or for contracts that have

changed in the meantime.

I read that note, in fact I used that note in order to customize accrual/defferal. I understood that repeating accr/deff can be done if subsequent period haven´t been done yet, but it is what occurrs and the error is very specific, do you have another idea what is missing?

Hi Efrain,

if you did already an accrual run for a company code with key date 30.09.2010 for some contracts, it is not possible anymore to start another accrual run with an earlier key date (f.e. 31.07.2010).

But you should be able to start another accrual run with key date 30.09.2010 for the contracts that you haven't selected in the first accrual run.
