Sap MDM compared to SAP BO

Hi Experts!

I need your kind help in understanding when do we use SAP MDM and when do we use SAP BO as both have complementary features.Where does SAP BO aid SAP MDM if used in MDM-BO scenario,kindly provide a detailed explanation.
