GRC datamart with Oracle and Microsoft Access 2003 in a Windows 7 64

Hi all,

I have successfully configured the datamart link using Oracle -> ODBC -> Access 2003 in a Windows 2003 server 32 bit.

If I perform the same configuration on a Windws 7 64 bit machine (still having Access 2003) it does not work.

The problem comes on the final step.

1) I have successufully created the link in the tnsnames.ora (TNSPING find the DB)

2) I have successufully created the ODBC connection on client side and the TEST CONNECTION is OK

When finally I go in Access 2003 and I try to link tables using the ODBC connection, the error 3146 (call failed ) appears.

I have noticed that there are 2 ODBC managers (in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and in C:\Windows\System32).

Are thre specific actions to be performed in a 64 bit Windows system.

Thanks in advance.

Andrea

I have found the solution.

The issue was related to ODBC connection at 64 bit layer. After have installed the ODTwithODAC112012 package from Oracle, I was able to set the link to GRC in the ODBC program in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory.

Now it works!!
