How to use control quantity in WM removal

Former Member

Dear All,

In our company, there are some materials with a whole roll, that cannto be splited into partially picking.

For example:

Material A0001, 1000PCE in whole roll, stock 4 roll ( 4000 PCE) in one bin, now there is a picking list required to pick 900 PCE. We hope system can suggest to pick 1000PCE with a whole roll for this picking.

How to set up this control quantity in WM?

Please kindly advise,

Thank you advance!

Julia

Hi,

possible solution could be to activate full stock removal required. This is to be set in controls of storage type , stock removal control. also make sure that return stock to same storage bin is not active.

This functions as follows , if your bin stock is 1000 , you try to pick 500 pcs , the system would still pick 1000 pcs.(if return stock to storage bin is active diff of 500 will still be returned to your storage bin, not adviced in your case).

Hi Rajaneesh,

Thanks for your information!

Actually I cannot active the full stock removal required, since there are 4 rolles in one bin, and our SU is 4000 PCE for one bin ( 4 rolls in one bin)

If active the full stock removal required, then must be picked 4000 PCE ,even required Qty is 900PCE.

Any another suggestion?

Best regards,

Julia

Unless you use SUM, you cannot use partial pallet strategy? The name itself suggests partial 'Pallet', that means there should be palletization so as to identify quantity in parts (rather than full qty of 1000 PCE in your case).

To make your case work, create an alternate unit of measure 'Rolls, where 1 Roll = 100PCE (or whichever value in multiple of 100). You can use partial quantity now, in your case 900PCE by specifying 9 Rolls in the delivery or transfer order.

You try with Rounding off quantity in the material master data.I think you need to use the picking strategy Small/Large quantities .

After testing, I found we can handle as the following approach:

1> set up storage unit type check with put away strategy P- Storage Unit Type in Storage Type

2>set up Material Master with SUT ( Palletizatgion data)

3>Removal pick with full stk rmvl reqmt act.

4>enhancement in user exit to ensure no mixing during putaway if the bin has stored material

Thanks all of you kindly advise and reply!

Are you using SUM ? If you are uisng SUM then if you are maintaining palletization data as roll then picking will happen asper roll. You can not break roll into pc.

I am not sure partial pallet qty is having relevance to Palletization qty maintained in WM view . Please do your testing & know me results. This will be learning for me.
