Block Batch updates from QM

Hi Guru's,

I have a question regarding batch updates through QM (inspection lots).

Is it possible to block a batch for getting updates from QM? Meaning that we can take UD, but that the results are not copied to the batch anymore. The solution should also make sure that we still can do a few logistical movement (like transfer postings, goods issue, ...)

Maybe anybody experience with a custom-build solution?

Dear,

The link between master inspection characteristics and class characteristics allows you to transfer results of a quality inspection to the batch classification, This can only take place, if the material is to be handled in batches and if a batch class was assigned to the material master in the classification view. Remove the batch class is one option.

Or

SPRO - Quality management -- Maintaing settings at plant level-- there in the Ins Lot Cpmpleation , at tab Batch Valuation Remove this and check it.

( QCC0->Quality inspection->Inspection lot completion-->transfer inspection decision to batc remove it.)

Do you never want QM to update the batch? If so, there are several ways to stop the update depending on your current design.

1) Don't maintain the material spec and make sure the plant level indicator in config Batch updae without material spec is ticked off.

2) Break the link in the inspection plans on your characteristics. (also provide you turn off the above mentioned indicator

3) Don't link your MIC's to general characteristics at all

If you need to update the batch on say 04 lots, but not for 09 lots, then create two differnt plans. Maintain the material spec and keep the MIC linked in the plan used for 04. In the plan for 09's, break the MIC link. Again make sure the above indicator is turned off.

Or, create a whole different set of mics (not linked to a general charc) for use in plans that you don't want to update the batch. I don't like this particularly cause it's harder to look at stats and trends across tests for a given material or groups of materials.
