Authentication for SSO.

Hi All,

We are implementing SAP GRC on our SAP Solution Manager System. We have

implemented SSO and are using iview url on our portal system connecting

to the GRC system. The SSO is ticket based. GRC & Portal are on different box.

UME of the GRC box points to the R/3 System, and R/3 system does not contains all the users.

My LDAP AD has all the users, but UME does not points to LDAP. So SSO does work for all users that does not exist in UME ( R/3).It ask for userid & password.

I have Authentication as UME. If I use authentication other than UME my SSO does not work. User id displayed as blank on request access screen.

SO is it mandatory for SSO to work to have authentication as UME.

If I implement SP Nego SSO. Can I change the Authentication to LDAP or UME authentication is mandatory there also.

Kind Regards,

Srinivasan

-UME of the GRC box points to the R/3 System

+you mean to say the user source of GRC system has been defined as R/3 in the ume

-and R/3 system does not contains all the users

+that is obvious, cause the ume or ldap may be having additional users which have nothing to do with the r/3/backend system

-My LDAP AD has all the users

+ that is obvious too, your ldap is connected to all the user sources

- but UME does not points to LDAP

+ yeah, cause it uses r/3 as the user source, as you mentioned previously

-So SSO does work for all users that does not exist in UME ( R/3).

+so what's the problem, if it works?

-It ask for userid & password.

+ it should only ask for the first time, not every time. seems like the SSO is not properly configured in the first place.

your problem seems to be relatively easy but you have asked the question in a very complicated way. Can you please normalize your question?
