RFC and SOLMANDIAG webadmin error

Former Member

Hello,

I have the following error in our solution manager SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SP20).

After entering the solman_setup and doing correctly the "initial configuration" and then the "basic configuration" I have an error in the first step of "managed system configuration" (for portal) checking the prerequisites.

I think this issue is related to the fact that RFCs WEBADMIN and SOLMANDIAG are not working in SM59: both time out.

It could be due to another error but I cannot see any logs, it´s only a supposition.

Thanks for any help

Regards

The WEBADMIN timeout keeps reappearing every now and then. The stopping/starting of the JAVA stacks solves the problem for a while. But then it returns.

I upgraded the LM-SERVICE to patch 1 for SP07, but with no result.

Did you manage to fix this?

Thanks,

Regards,

Bart

Hi All,

Any resolution on this? i'm facing this as well "error when opening RFC connection".. i've increase the resource cap for SOLMANDIAG to 20 but problem still recurring. I've spent massive time on troubleshooting this. Appreciate if someone can share the solution.

Thanks.

Hi,

I restarted the JAVA stack and the connection was OK again.

Hi Filipe,

I also encounter a timeout in the SOLMANDIAG RFC, causing the E2E_JAVA_EXTRACTOR_IF extractor to fail. Subsequently no data is being extracted and loaded into the E2E BI cubes. Did you manage to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Regards,

Bart Groot.

Could you please paste the error with the details like error number etc?

Hi  There

Ensure both webadmin & SOLMANDIAG RFC working fine -> SM59 -> TCP/IP

Go to SE16 -> E2E_RESOURCES and change the resourcecap to 10 for SOLMANDIAG

Go to http://<solman_host>:<solman_port>/smd/services  -> Diagnostic System   -> Advanced Setup    -> Abap connectivity    -> Connection Configuration

Change server count to 10

Restart WEBADMIN (step 3 & 4 can br perform in Visual Administrator as well if you prefer)

Set gw/keepalive & gw/reg_keepalive to value 0 in RZ11 (no reboot necessary)

Go to SM59 -> TCP/IP -> SOLMANDIAG and make sure you input the Gateway Host and Gateway Service correctly, don't leave this empty !

I hope this will fix the issue.

Best Regards
