CRM rule set upload & Cross-System analysis scope

Hello GRC Experts u2013

We are running GRC 5.3 SP10. We have GRC Dev (D26) and GRC Prd (P26), both of which are connected to our SAP 4.7 Dev (D10) and Prd (P10) environments. Currently we have one customized rule set installed. We have created a logical system in both GRC Dev (D26) and Prd (P26) to encompass our SAP Dev and Prd physical systems (logical system = D10+P10).

We are bringing CRM live this month and need to incorporate the CRM rules into our rule set in RAR. We have established a connector for CRM Dev (D30) with GRC Dev (D26) and successfully tested the connection. We would like guidance on what our next steps should be:

We understand that we would need to download the text objects from CRM D30 and upload objects in GRC Dev D26. Our question is, should CRM remain a physical system or should it be included in our existing logical system. Our concern is that we believe we would have cross-system scope for some functions and our understanding is that RAR is unable to generate cross-system rules for physical systems that are maintained in the same logical group (SAP note #1178372).

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi Rebecca,

This is abosultely right. RAR can not generate cross-system rules when all the systems are part of same logical group. It kind of makes sense as when you are creating rules, you are actually selecting the logical system name instead of indidividual systems like D10 or P10. If you need cross-system then create another logical group for CRM and you can always add other systems to this group later.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thank you Alpesh. We will proceed as you suggest, with a separate logical system for CRM. I will post a seperate questions about the rule upload for CRM.
