I need to provide a popup box by adding an option to the regular context menu on the web reports. Basically I need to read one of the characteristics on any one line of the report and then use one of the charactersitics to read some data from a dso and present in a popup.
I realized using VC by it self my not be an option as the regular web report context menu from Bex quereis will not appear there.
Another constraint is that we do not want to use WAD going forward except for the existing web templates so any solution
based on WAD will not be possible unless absolutely necessary.
My vision is to integrate the existing web template into VC (we are on 7.01) hoping that some how I will still get the web report context menu as from BEX and use the VC functionality to enhance the context menu and call a popup window for the rest.
Is this even possible - ie can we manipulate the web reporting context menus to interact within VC ?
If so please explain - thanks !
Hi
Are you talking about drilldown? Do you want to read data from DSO for the selected characteristic ?

Kind of but the drilldown is only relevant for a single characterstic so example I have customer number I need to display some customer details. The detail information is stored in a DSO and a lookup to the DSO to display the details in a popup window
seemed like a possible solution. The original idea was to add an option to the WAD context menu and display in popup window in WAD but enhancements on WAD are not an option here.
So am looking at VC, to keep the same look and feel of WAD report but do the same enhancement using VC. I've got as far as adding an HTML view using the WAD url. Now how do we interact with this ie can we add the option to the contect menu from here and then read the DSO to show popup window in VC.
thanks,
sapper.
