Hello, Need some help with the above issue.
In RZ21 --> Technical Infrastructure --> Configure Central System ---> Create remote Monitoring entry.
I am receiving the following error in the system log. "getservbyname failed" The display screen reports
the following messages in the lower window.
RD1_RZ20_COLLECT_111556Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SAL_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SALC function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of RFC1 function: Error when opening an RFC connection

Thank you,
The RFC destination will be created based on load balancing and for this the sapmsECD must be defined in the services file of the central monitoring system. Something like: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
You can do 2 things now:
1.) define the correct sapmsXXX TCP/IP port name for each system which you want to add to the central monitoring system in the services file
2.) blank the field 'Logon group' (delete PUBLIC) every time before you

Hi Gary Miller ,
Have you configured your systems and solution in SMSY ?
ADD system to RZ21 in order to monitoring alerts in SLM EHP1, go to transaction SMSY, select client row where the RFC are defined then press the "Assign and Check RFC Destination" button, in a new window, select the check box "Assign RFC Dest.for System Monitoring". save the window, now system will added to transaction RZ21 and you can select the alerts to monitoring at transaction DSWP.

Hi,
In addition to what Mateus said ( 1. create the entry sapms<SID>36##/tcp in the service file and 2. check the existence of the logon group; either create or remove), make sure that you are using CSMREG user and it has all the necessary authorization.
