Hi Colleagues,
I have a doubt , We have 2 instance in SAP system . if we directly copy kernel files to local directory /usr/sap/SID/exe of dialog instance will kernal gets updated and if yes will it be reflected in central instance.

Yes kernel files should be copied from the CT_RUN directory defined in the start profile.
Sapcpe programme should copy them.

Hi,
In case CI & application instances share the same /sapmnt/<sid>/exe then only do the kernel upgrade in CI. After kernel upgrade when CI comes online then simply restart the application instance.
But if your /sapmnt/SID/exe is not shared between the CI & application instances then you have to do the upgrade separately.
