Hello MJ,
1. Please review the SAP notes::

< See the answer on the question:
21. How do I resolve a LOG full situation? >
1377148 FAQ: SAP MaxDB backup/recovery
820824 FAQ: SAP MaxDB/liveCache technology
2. If you have the u201Clog fullu201D issue in liveCache, then create the log backup, then check if the autolog in liveCache switched on and what is the size of the log area. What is the version of the liveCache.
Is the case occurred during the high loading to liveCache?
What disks or FSs are you using for the log volumes and the log backups?
I recommend to create the SAP message, if you could not solve this issue by yourself.
Than k you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

You should ARCHIVE the log, not delete it.
This is part of the backup strategy for MaxDB/Livecache.
