Hi Everyone <br>
I am all new to this so please bear with me experts ! Company presently runs 32bit systems : <br>
- Windows 2003 <br>
- Oracle 9.2.0.8.0<br>
- SAP R/3 4.7, Enterprise Ext Set 200<br>
- Kernel 640<br>
- NO Unicode <br><br>
Plans are in progress to upgrade to ECC 6.0 64 bit, however before upgrade we would like to do a uni-code conversion . <br>
Question : from some initial reading , is it as simple as using the config listed above to :<br>
1) Prepare non-Unicode system. <br>
2) Export non-Unicode database and convert non-Unicode data <br>
3) Create new Unicode database and import the non-Unicode database.<br>
4) Do post-conversion activities in the Unicode system <br>
And if so , I hope !, can some please inform if there are any SAP guides available for this .Ii am pretty comfortable with the <br> System Copy part ( except if there are any special procedures for uni-code conversion in it ) <br>
Any help would be greatly appreciated! <br>
Many thanks, <br>
nik
Hi Nik,
please have a look at SAP note 1322715 --> point 1.
If you want to separate the Unicode conversion from the upgrade, you should download the appropriate attachment of
a) SAP note 1051576 in case of a single code page system
or
b) SAP note 551344 in case of an MDMP system.
This contains a step-by-step description of the Unicode conversion (similar to the system copy guide, which you have to use as well).
Best regards,
Nils Buerckel
