Hi all,
We are working on SAP XI Development environment wherein we have File to IDoc scenario running twice daily and creating many messages.
How to archive and then delete these messages ?
Does accumalation of past messages affect the speed and performance of the system?
Thanks in advance.
Ajay
Ajay,
Please go through this link. It would be helpful and solve the issue. I had the similar situation earlier.<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/402fae48-0601-0010-3088-85c46a236f50">Archive and Delete Messages in SAP XI: A Step-by-Step Guide</a>

Very helpful! Thank you.
But I still have some doubts... I can archive the message with transaction "SARA", but which messages? I mean, when executing it I will archive all the messages created until today? Is this the configuration I did in retention periods (sxmb_adm)?
And... executing the report RSWF_XI_INSTANCES_DELETE, I delete almost all the messages, but not all, why?
Thank you very much!! I think that I do not still understand this correctly...

Isabelle
<i>Does accumalation of past messages affect the speed and performance of the system?</i>
Yes. Archiving does affect the performance of the system.
Go to <a href="http://<Server>:<Port>/mdt/MSArch">http://<Server>:<Port>/mdt/MSArch</a>
Here new jobs can be created. Delete job is created by default. The frequency at which the job is executed can be changed.
Press Create button, create new job if necessary.
