Hi All,

My team is facing an issue in which they are not able to edit any message mapping. This happens after we migrated from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1.

Please let me know in case of any other information is required.

Any help in this topic will be highly appreciable.

Thanks,

Anurag Singh Rathore

Hi Anurag,

Two points I want to present you that may be the cause:

1-The user that is trying to edit the objects are not assigned with

the respective roles to do that. If there's an authorization error message,

kindly post that here.

2-Ensure you use Java version 1.5 for PI 7.1X. Perhaps you're still using

the 1.4.2 version from the older version of XI, before the upgrade.

Hi Caio,

Thanks for your response.

But we are not gettiing any authorization error messages and also we are using JAVA 1.6.

Please let me now if we have to check any specific role for this.

Thanks,

Hi Anurag,

You may try using the following role:

"SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE"

If not worked, then go to:

-> Exchange Profile -> Integration Builder -> 'com.sap.aii.util.server.auth.activation'

You need to switch the value to "false", save the changes, and restart

the J2EE Engine. You should then be able to modify objects again.

Last, by default, SAP ships the role "XIREP_UNRESTRICTED" which allows users

to edit all the objects in the integration builder. You may use this.

The following are the steps to use this role :

1. Start the AS Java Identity Management

2. Choose Identity Management.

3. Search for XiRep_Unrestricted and select it.

4. Choose Assigned Groups/users and then choose Modify.

5. Search for the relevant user groups/user name

6. Add this role to user and choose save.

Also, please check the other thread I answered and use that note to import

the ESR content. It may be missing and could be the cause as well.

With regards,

Hi <B>Caio/Stefan</B>,

Thanks for your response. I am now able to edit the mappings in PI 7.1. I just have done the below changes:

<B>1.</B> I change the Original Language to <B>English</B>(which earlier was showing as "<I>Undefined</I>").

<B>2.</B> I checked the "<B>Uses External Documentation</B>" options.

These are the only changes I did.

<B>Thanks again to Caio and Stefan for helping me in this.</B>

At least you should write, what happens when you try.

Hi,

Just to update on my previous post. We try to contact BASIS on this and they said that they have given us all the access and also the developer roles but still we are not able to edit any mappings as the display/edit button is greyed out.

So please let us know if we have to check any configuration settings or so...so that edit/display button can be in active condition.

Thanks,

Check in software component version, if "objects are modifiable" is set.
