OLE DB Connection Problem

Former Member

Hi,

We have a SQL Server 2008 database. From my universe (BO XI R 3.1), I am pointing my universe to that db, using OLE DB.

My universe connection tests are all successful. But when I open the reports based on that universe (Crystal) from InfoView, they are prompting repeatedly for database logon.

When searched in other forum topics, it seems that the database logon prompts because of database driver version not being compatible with the database.

Any help/info on this would be greatly helpful.

(I have already installed NCLI10 client)

Thanks.

be sure that you have the OLE DB fixed at the BO server itself

one more step, in the CMC navigate to this Crystal Report and modify the connection string to this DB

so the report will not ask you the database login

good lick

Thanks for your comments...

Having the db in the same server as BO is something, that is not in our control. So can't get away with that.

Tried with CMC settings.. But no luck...

An update on this.

When connected to the same db, from the same machine, using odbc, the reports are working fine.

When connected through ole db, from universe designer, the connection is parsing fine, and the table values are displayed fine.

So connection server seems to be fine, whereas the WebIntelligence processing server is not able to connect.

Any info on how to correct this.

Thanks.
