Hi All,
Can someone suggest me the steps to create cascading parameters. I am new to BO and want to create dynamic parameters in my crystal reports.
pls suggest me all steps to create LOVs on:
country > state > region.
Thanks,
Candie
Assuming you are asking how to do this within the universe structure, it's not hard. First you have to create base objects for country, state, and region. Then from the Tools menu select Lists of Values followed by Create Cascading LOV. Select the objects in the order you want (I assume Country, State, and ending with Region) and the hierarchy will be built. When you click the "Generate" button it will customize the list of values (LOV) query for the bottom two objects (State and Region).
At this point, if you create a prompt for Region it will include a prompt for State, and State will include a prompt for Country. Ultimately you will probably want to refer to each level of the prompt in your conditions, otherwise the condition in the SQL only references the lowest level object.
