Upload of old/open project structures

Hi experts

Please let me know the best approach of uploading old poject stuctures in system.

Is LSMW best or custom BDC?

In case of LSMW, is it works with recording method/

In case of BDC, what way the data file for different project objects can be prepared (pd, wbs elements, network, activities etc0.

Or is it required to upload seperately for object type?

Hi,

You can use BDC's for upload of Project related objects. A BDC used to upload, say, WBSe can be coded in such a way it will accomodate structure of any hierarchy levels. Please consult with your ABAPer for this.

My project structure is a mix of WBS and network activities.

Such case, can the BDC be build accommodating both all objects? if so, how to template the spread sheet to gather the project data?

Hi,

You have to use separate BDC s for individual objects. BDC's are flexible in the way that after doing yor recording, the coding can be modified to adapt uploading of objects with varying structure.

i have always used separate lsmw's for each object - it is easy to control errors that way
