Dears,

Our file system /usr/sap/<SID> is getting full again & again.

We have checked WP trace files, stat files,Audit log & Java trace files.

Please suggest what more we can delete to make the file system below to threshold value.

We are on HP - Unix and ABAP+JAVA BI instance.

Regards,

Shivam

Do you know how you can decrease the Java trace file t on UNIX..

please describe the steps, such the directory etc..... I guess by default is set it to 1.

I'm wondering which value is wise to set it to provide that your system file will increase

Hi Shivam,

Please have a look at below SAPnote and it will surely help you out.. its based on both the OS (UNIX and WIn) and I also liked the idea which is given by Eric, you need to check if you are lacking the Filesystem space.

Note 16513 - File system is full - what do I do?

Hope it will solve your issue !

what is the size of your /usr/sap/[SID] directory.

It might be a good idea to increase it.

Hi,

You can have a practice of deleting the old batch job logs from the /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global directory. Also try to free up the space occupied by the work logs and also the workflow logs.

Hi,

In the "/work" directory there is a file called CORE (core dump) which size increase rapidly. As a result /usr/sap/<SID> get filled.

you need to regularly monitor and delete the content of the file. You need to delete the content of the file not the file itself.Incase you delete the CORE file recreate it.

You can also delete the old Trace files and Log files.
