Greetings, I've just installed Content Server and SAPdb along with Apache.
We're on AIX 5.3 . By SAPDB is showing as "offline"
when I attempt to start I'm getting the following error:
sap01dad:/sapdb/programs/bin/> dbmcli -d CSD -u control,control db_start
ERR
-24994,ERR_RTE: runtime environment error
1,Check knldiag! Kernel died before reaching COLD state
The following Erors are in /sapdb/data/wrk/CSD/knldiag.err
2010-08-02 05:57:39 1 ERR 11309 IPC create_fifo: '/usr/spool/sql/fifo//pipecheck_CSD' chown error, Not owner

2010-08-02 05:57:39 1 ERR 11270 console e87_create_diag_fifo: chown error, Not owner
I've cleaned up semaphores, checked permissions, read posts until I'm blue in the face,,, Any ideas ?
I'm new to MAXdb/SAPDb, any help you can provide would be appricated.

Run first:
cd /sapdb/CSD/db/pgm
chown root dbmsrv
chown root lserver
chmod 4755 dbmsrv
chmod 4755 lserver
After that try :
dbmcli -d CSD -u control,control db_warm

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
I don't know why the Content Server Install didn't set the permissions to these programs properly,
but your permissions suggestions worked... Here's my status now.
sap01dad:/sapdb/programs/bin/> dbmcli -d CSD -u control,control db_state
OK
State
WARM
sap01dad:/sapdb/programs/bin/> dbmcli -d CSD -u control,control db_enum
OK
CSD /sapdb/CSD/db 7.3.0.42 fast running
CSD /sapdb/CSD/db 7.3.0.42 slow offline
CSD /sapdb/CSD/db 7.3.0.42 quick offline
I assume these Kernel states are ok ? I'm now able to connect my Conten Repository in SAP.
Hi there,
just a shot into the blue ... but could it be that the filesystem you installed the MaxDB software to does not support the SUID flag?
Like NFS or something?
If so, then this could explain the issue.
regards,
Lars

Lars,,, Thanks for the reply. Not sure how to check that, but there's other files in the directory
that seem to be created via Pipe. Here's the permissions of the directory:
