Hi folks,
i'm new to visual composer and we get an error when deploying as Flash(flex) application.
Deploment failes - error compiling - see log file; but the log file is not really of big interest, ist this an installation problem maybe, as also a deploment to WebDynpro Runtime works but executing the WebDynpro Runtime results in an error.
We use NW2004s SP08 ....
any hints welcome
kind regards
oliver
Hello,
there is no known problem with compiling to Flex with AIX. try applying notes
886209 - Flex compilation error on Unix Machines
936390 - Adobe Flex compilation error
To get more inforamtion from the logs, you should increase the sevirty of the com.sap.portal.vc.* to ALL and reproduce the problem. it will be logged in the defaultTrace. after you finsih, revert the sevirity to ERROR.

One More info to my question.
Accoring to the "installation" documentation could it be that the Visual Composer Flex Runtime is not supported on an Enterprise Portal under AIX ?????
If so when will it be supported , or what can someone do in that case - do we have to run Flex Runtime isolated on antoher environment then Portal, is this even possible????
kind regards
oliver

If you encounter problems during Flex deployment, another useful step you can do is to turn on the Visual Composer VerboseErrorMessages flag with your Visual Administrator.
This is a security setting that determines whether to display the Flex compilation errors during deployment.
It is turned off by default to prevent sensitive information from being displayed, but if you have a deployment error you can turn it on to see what the error is without having to go through the logs.
Changing this option requires a J2e restart.
