SAP Bundle Patches and Oracle Release Number 11.2.0.1.1

Former Member

I have applied the SAP Bundle Patch 11.2.0.1.1 - 201006.

Somewhere I heard that the SAP Bundle Patches would

increment the Oracle Release Number, so I expected to

see 11.2.0.1.1 somewhere. The binaries still report

being 11.2.0.1.0, in DBA_REGISTRY the version string

also didn't change even though I ran catalog.sql and catproc.sql.

Even opatch.pl lsinventory shows only 11.2.0.1.0 for

the database version, so where do I see that I applied

the SAP Bundle Patch 11.2.0.1.1 ?

Regards,

Mark

Hello Mark,

check metalink note #861152.1 ("Do Patchset Updates (PSU's) Change the Oracle Release Version/Fifth Digit?").

It will answer your question.

For metalink access check sapnote #758563.

Stefan

In the past, I never seen the 5th number of the version number appear in any Oracle tools.

Hello Eric,

me neither. The more surprised I was when I saw Jens Schmidt's

presentation about Oracle patching. For me it sounds like the

installed patch is reflected in the version number, but so far

I couldn't find it.

Mark

Opatch (an MOpatch) does not seem to update DBA_REGISTRY.

Hi,

Check SAP Note 1431795 - Oracle 11.2.0: Patches/Patchcollections for 11.2.0.1 whether you have installed patches mentioned in this note.

Thanks

Sunny
