Transporting MDM objects

Hi,

Can anyone plz help me know what is the difference when transporting the MDM objects of 5.5 and 7.1 versions

We are using CTS. What are the steps to be taken in transporting MDM obejcts when we are working on CTS environment.

Hi,

Change and Transport System (CTS) is a tool that helps you to organize development projects in ABAP Workbench and in Customizing, and then transport the changes between the SAP systems in your system landscape. As well as ABAP objects, you can also transport Java objects (J2EE, JEE) and SAP-specific non-ABAP technologies (such as Web Dynpro Java or SAP Net Weaver Portal) in your landscape.

With SAP Net Weaver MDM 7.1 SAP delivers a new feature that allows transporting MDM changes through complex system landscapes.

These are some high level steps for CTS +

Step 1: Defining and Configuring MDM as Non-ABAP System in CTS+ Configuration

Step 2: MDM - Managing the Change Extraction

Step 3: Providing Changes to CTS+ transport system

Step 4: Transport within the system landscape

Step 5: Manual change deployment in target MDM system

here from 7.1 onwards

MDM now supports the transport of the following content elements:

Expressions (validations and assignments)

Matching strategies

Workflows

Import and syndication maps

Hi MS,

With MDM 7.1 version we can use this CTS+ Transport Management Environment to Transport MDM Objects. We dont have this thing earlier with MDM 5.5 version.
