Functional / Technical Specs for iViews, APIs

I'm familiar with the traditional format/content of Functional/Technical specs (in general) for R3 ERP ABAP RICE-type objects, but new to the MDM-iView-Portal-API methods/protocols. Can anyone share a typical Functional and Technical spec (format/content)for an enhancement or mod-add-on to MDM functionality?

you can find a lot of information on http://service.sap.com/instguides, under NetWeaver 2004 -> MDM

Also a lot of information is here on SDN. Just use the search funcionality
