*Hello,*
*I am installing the SAPNWABAP701SR1_trial on one of our windows XP laptops and do not have the MAXDB user / password to drop the database which was built when a previous ABAP trial version was installed back in 2007.*
*Is there any way short of reformatting the drive to drop the database?*
*Thank you,*
*Emmett*
Hello Emmett,
-> What is the version of the database?
Post the output of the command:
sdbregview -l
-> Do you have another databases installed/running on your server?
Post the output of the commands:
dbmcli inst_enum
dbmcli db_enum
-> You are SAP customer. Correct?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello,
*Is there any way short of reformatting the drive to drop the database?*
If you would like to uninstall the database software on the server
==>
1. Check the knldiag file in c:/sapdb/data/wrk/NSP for the location data and log volumes.
2.
Run as Administrator on the database server:
c:/sapdb/nsp/db/pgm/dbmstop u2013d NSP
c:/sapdb/nsp/db/pgm/dbmunreg u2013d NSP
x_server stop
After that you could uninstall the database software < c:/sapdb/programs/bin/SDBUNINST u2013all >.
Check the uninstall log, which derectories could not be deleted.
Data/log volumes, config database files delete then manually at the end.
