Hi guys,
I am currently setting up a SRM system and connecting it to an ERP backend. What restrictions would I have when there is ECC 6.0 only without any EHPs installed?
Would strategic sourcing work
Would central contract mangement work? And can I distribute central contracts to the backend?
Any opinions?
Thanks in advance!
Mario,
Would strategic sourcing work? -
Strategic sourcing will still work with out ECC EHP and work same as in SRM5.0.
Would central contract mangement work? And can I distribute central contracts to the backend? --- Central contract management is a new concept that would work and distribute perfectly with ECC EHP4. If you do not use EHP then you can use standard contract (GCTR) same as in SRM 5.0 and distribute using IDoc technology.
Thanks,
Jagadish

Hi Mario,
Would strategic sourcing work
Yes strategic sourcing would work as it would with an EHP4 back-end.
Would central contract mangement work? And can I distribute central contracts to the backend?
Yes central contract management would work completely mediated via XI/PI (both synchronous and a-synchronous services). Do note that an EHP4 back-end wouldn't be sufficient for non-xi/pi distribution either, an EHP5 back-end + SRM 7.0 EHP1 would be required for non-xi/pi-services capability.
Kind regards,
Tim
