automatic delievry with item category TAB

Hi gurus,

we have a requirement where we are using the Item category TAB for creation of purchase requistion.BUt we want the automatic delivery also be created in the background for this item category.

No settings have been changed for the std TAB item category.Order type OR has the A for immediate delivery.

Still when we create a sales order a order is created but no delivery is created.

Please suggest

Hi,

There might be several reasons why it might not be creating a delivery document. The best way to find out is to go to VL01N and put in the sales order number, shipping point and the delivery date and press enter. It will give you an error why it is not able to create the sales order.

Correct the error and try by creating another sales order and save it. System should create a delivery automatically.

Some of the most likely reasons that might be preventing the delivery from being created are

a. Is your document complete

b. Does it have a shipping point or a storage location (not mandatory) in the sales order

c. Is the material created in the respective warehouse

d. Is the right schedule line category been determined

PS: Technically it is possible is SAP. However, this is not recommended Logically and Functionally.

B'coz you are raising PR then PO ,GR,MIRO next Delivery.

Thanks ALL,

I agree with venky that its possible.iam tyring out the same.For other just want to say that we are in to transport bussiness where we hire the vehicles too,so in this case when we create an order the PR is triggered and the actual delivery is not done.Its just required for the shipment document to be created.

So hope now i have cleared the doubts.

Hi,

This functionality is not possible.

First you have to understand the process. TAB is for third party and this also uses MIGO. That means, sales order will create a PR which will create a PO and for the PO, Goods receipt will happen in the plant from where the delivery will be done to ship to party. When the goods are received, the goods are reserved with special stock type E and for the sales order number and the item number.

Hence the process flow is SO--PR-PO-MIGO-Delivery----PGI.

Here you can automate SO to PR and PR to PO at the maximum. If you want to automate PO-MIGO, you have to do this by means of IDOCs for PO. Also when MIGO is done you have to trigger delivery creation again by IDOC. If you can achive this , then this functionality is possible. Explain this to the functional team and ABAPers to find out the right IDOCs for these purposes.
