We have just completed upgrade to ECC6.0 eph4.
We are evaluating new workstion build to depoly windows 7 and office 2010. We are installing SAP GUI 7.2 patch 1 on the workstations. While testing the build, we are finding that when creating/changing texts in VD02 and IW52 long text. That the editor defaults to the line editor. How can we change editor to call Word 2010? From reading SAP notes, SAP 7.20 supports windows 7 and office 2010. Is there a parameter or transaction that needs to be set for the user?
Please advise.
Thanks

Steps:
We open IW52 to service notification, click on long text icon. Screen opens with line editor. When select "Change Editor" in menu, we then see this message.
Error in the PC editor. Continue with the line editor
Message no. TD754
Diagnosis
An internal error occurred in the PC editor accessing the text (data
transport with the data provider).
System Response
The operation could not be executed in the PC editor.
Procedure
Contact your PC system administrator.
I have not gotten response from SAP yet, I opened customer message with my support vendor. They think this will be fixed in the next GUI release, but I haven't see any updates at this point. If I find a solution, I will post response.
Good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks,
Tony Romain

We followed OSS Note 1452849. My basis person had to read the note closely. We applied SNOTE and loaded templates that were mentioned at the bottom of the OSS note. We are testing in our DEV and QAS clients this week. I'll let you know if we are successful.
Thanks Alex for pointing out that OSS note.

Hello,
We have same problem but we have Windows 10. Do we need to to install any other notes?
Thank you,

Yes, it seems that this is related to Office 2010. i have tested SAP 7.10 on Office 2007 and XP without any problems, but applying this package to Windows7 + Office 2010 seems to raise this problem again..
if any one has come across a solution, please provide on this thread!
many thanks.

Did you resolved this problem? I have the same issue with MS Office 2010.
Thanks!
