Hi,
Our test system's SAP_BASIS component's SP had got updated recently. After that, the webdynpro applications that had got imported to this system before SP updation, have stopped working. Meanwhile all the webdynpro applications that I had previoulsy built in this test system continue to work.
The error that I got was ICF service node "/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/app_name" does not exist (see SAP Note 1109215)
But I was not able to implement the steps mentioned in the note in the test system, because the application i built were in a different system.
I checked for the Service nodes for the applications in SICF and they don't exist there.
I even tried creating a new application for the same webdynpro component in source system and moving to this test system and still it doesn't work.
Has anyone faced this particular issue before?
Thanks,
Vishnu

Hello,
Are you able to see you applications via. SE80 in your test system?
If Yes , then please check whether they are in SICF tree or not.
If they exixt thete the please activate the root node of the webdynpro tree.
And also check if they are working in your development system you also have to check the ICM configuration setting of your test system.
Thanks
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, in the Test System, the application is there in se80 but the service is not there in SICF tree.
And in the development system, eventhough the application works, I couldn't find the service entry in SICF tree. I am not sure whether applications can work without having an entry in SICF tree.
Thanks,
Vishnu
Hi,
You cant just have a webdynpro application without a service. There are 2 ways to check.
1. Using SICF.
2. In SE80 open the webdynpro component and double click on the application. Then Goto->HTTP Service Maintenance. You should be able to see your application. Right click and activate it. You can then run this application.
Thanks
Vamsi
Thank you for the responses, Pradeep and Vamsi.
Yes, I was also under the same impression, that it should be there in SICF.
But we checked in the Dev system and we couldn't find entries in SICF. Besides when we create webdynpro applications, we get a warning message saying we don't have authorization to create ICF node for applications.
But the strange part is, we are able to run the applications!
And when I tried Goto->HTTP Service Maintenance , it says
ICF node for <Application_name> does not exist. Do you want to create it?
I would have preferred my applications not to run, this way!
Thanks,
Vishnu
