Possibility of use of NW2004S VC with NW04

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to use components developed with a NW 2004S and VC 7.0 installation and transporting to use the component with a NW`04 installation?

This question is regarding that the VC installation for 2004S is integrated in the WAS and has a OS abstraction while the VC installation of NW04 must has ha MS SQL database.

Hi Kay-Arne,

you can run content developed with VC for NW2004s (akaVC7.0) at NW04. Please consider the following requirements:

o NW04 should be at SPS 14 level and higher

o A so-called "run-time patch" for VC is required to install a few VC components

The patch is available at SMP, a note give some tipps about it (941098) and you can download the patch here:

At SMP go to "Support Packages and Patches"

-> "Support Packages and Patches"

-> SAP NetWeaver

-> SAP NETWEAVER

-> SAP NETWEAVER 04

-> Entry by Component

-> Visual Composer

And then:

-> Visual Composer

-> VISUAL COMPOSER 6.0

-> #OS independent

-> #Database independent

Don't get confused about VC 6.0, because we talk about runtime only. Install those components and you can the execute your iViews created with VC 7.0
