SAPgui.exe failed to start because side-by-side configuration is incorrect

Hi

We are getting the below error in some of the Vista machines with SAP GUI 7.10 patch 16.

C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\SAPgui.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Please let me know if you have seen this and if you have any fix.

This is usually a dependency error with the visual runtime sxs configuration.

SAPGUI requires VS2005 SP1 VS2008 SP1 (for SAPGUI 7.20) and MSXML4.0 SP3

As a side note, 7.10 is not supported anymore and you should be planning a 7.20 rollout

ASAP.

this happens when we launch sapgui. Installation went fine without issues long time back. From past few days, we are getting reports of this issue in some Vista machines.

Hy,

I have often also the same error in our WIN7 environment, but a re-install has solved the problem each times.

Has anybody an idea how this error happens?
